Friday, 6 March marked an important milestone for the academic community of Bukovina and Romania, as Ștefan cel Mare University of Suceava (USV) celebrated 63 years of higher education in Suceava.

The celebration was enriched by the presence of Professor Beatriz Valverde Jiménez, coordinator of the NEOLAiA European University Alliance and Director of the Secretariat for European Universities at the University of Jaén. Through her intervention, she highlighted the essential role of European academic collaboration, mutual support among partner universities, and the exchange of knowledge and experience in fostering innovation, institutional development, and regional progress.

The event also brought together representatives of national and academic leadership. Among the distinguished guests was Professor Mihai Dimian, Minister of Education and Research, who until recently served as Rector of Ștefan cel Mare University of Suceava, a position in which he significantly contributed to the international development and strategic positioning of the university. His presence symbolized the strong connection between the national education system and the academic community of Suceava.

On this occasion, Professor Gabriela Prelipcean, Acting Rector of USV, addressed the audience, outlining the current strategic priorities and development directions of the university.

The anniversary offered an opportunity to reflect on the institutional evolution achieved through the dedication and solidarity of the academic community, which over the past decades has contributed to consolidating USV as an important center of education, research, and innovation in the region.
