Admission to the programme is open to applicants who meet the following requirements:

• Secondary education qualification – a secondary school leaving certificate, high school diploma, or an equivalent qualification granting access to higher education in the country of origin.
• English language proficiency at B2 level (CEFR) – all courses are taught in English throughout the three years.
• A motivational video, assessed by a Selection Committee using a shared evaluation rubric. Criteria include motivation, academic fit, clarity, and communication skills.

Up to 25 students are admitted per home university (75 in total per cohort), with a waiting list maintained at each institution. The final selection is validated by the Programme Board to ensure a balanced distribution across the consortium.

Additional institutional or national requirements may apply and will be communicated through the application platform and the official channels of the partner universities.

Applications are submitted in English, directly through the application portal of the chosen home university. Applicants should be prepared to provide:

• a secondary education qualification (school leaving certificate, high school diploma, or equivalent);
• proof of English language proficiency at B2 level (CEFR);
• a motivational video;
• any additional documents required by the chosen home university or by national regulations, as specified on its application platform.

All the information needed to apply is available on a dedicated page of the NEOLAiA website. From there, applicants are redirected to the application portal of the university chosen as home university – University of Salerno, Universidad de Jaén, or University of Nicosia – where they complete their application.

There is one common call for applications each year, usually launched in the summer. Each partner university sets its own specific deadline and communicates it through official channels and institutional websites. Each home university reviews and selects the applications submitted through its own system, following the same shared admission criteria agreed by all partner universities.

Once admitted, students are officially enrolled at their home university and also registered at the other partner universities as mobility students, so that their study periods abroad are fully recognised. The programme is open to both EU and non-EU students, in line with NEOLAiA’s commitment to inclusiveness and diversity.

Tuition fees are set by each home university individually, in accordance with national and institutional regulations, and are paid directly to that institution. Erasmus+ grants are available for mobility semesters abroad and are administered by the home university. Additional scholarships, waivers, or fee exemptions may be available at institutional level depending on nationality and financial need. Students are encouraged to contact their home university’s international office for full details on available funding.

Mobility is at the heart of the Joint Bachelor in Science, Management and Politics in Global Health. Students complete at least two semesters abroad within the NEOLAiA consortium, experiencing different academic systems, cultures, and health contexts across Europe.

Semesters 1–3 take place at the chosen home university (Salerno, Jaén, or Nicosia). Semester 4 is a shared mobility semester for the entire cohort at the University of Nicosia, focusing on key dimensions of Global Health (students enrolled at Nicosia complete their mobility in Semesters 5 and 6 instead).

In Semester 5, students choose one of three specialisation tracks:

• Data Analysis for Global Health – University of Salerno
• Management of Global Health – Universidad de Jaén
• Information and Communication in Global Health – Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences

Semester 6 combines a traineeship in a healthcare organisation, public institution, NGO, or international agency with the Bachelor’s thesis, and may take place at the home institution or abroad.

This is a Joint Degree. Upon successful completion, students receive a single Joint Bachelor’s Diploma co-signed by the three core partners: University of Salerno, Universidad de Jaén, and University of Nicosia.

The diploma is accompanied by a Diploma Supplement and a full Transcript of Records certifying all study periods and mobility. It is officially accredited, recognised across Europe, and grants access to Master’s programmes (EQF level 7).

Graduates are prepared for entry-level and junior professional roles in global health and related fields. With their interdisciplinary background, they can work across sectors, acting as a bridge between technical specialists, policymakers, and stakeholders.

Typical paths include: health policy and public administration, NGOs and international organisations (including WHO, ECDC, and EU health agencies), healthcare management and project coordination, data analysis and research roles, health communication and public campaigns.

Graduates may also continue to a Master’s degree in Global Health Policy, Data Science, International Relations, or Sustainability Studies.

Language. All courses are taught in English throughout the three years, at all partner universities.

Accommodation. Each partner university supports students in finding housing. International offices and buddy systems help with settling in. Students should contact the host university’s housing service at least 3–4 months before each mobility period.

Visa. Requirements vary by destination country and nationality. EU students generally do not need a visa within the Schengen Area. Non-EU students should contact the international office of their home university well in advance of each semester abroad.

Daily life. Salerno (Italy) offers Mediterranean city life near the Amalfi Coast. Jaén (Spain) provides an authentic Andalusian experience close to Granada and Seville. Nicosia (Cyprus) is a vibrant capital with a diverse international campus community. Šiauliai (Lithuania) is a calm, student-friendly city well connected to the region.
