Work package 3 (Diversity and Inclusion) meeting at Bielefeld University

Nov 27, 2024 | Neolaia

At the NEOLAiA Work Package 3 (Diversity and Inclusion) meeting at Bielefeld University, international colleagues are working on the final draft of the NEOCharter.

On 26-28 November, 2024, Work Package 3 members from all NEOLAiA member universities are meeting at Bielefeld University. The aim is to finalise the draft of the D&I NEOCharter and thus fulfil a milestone of the Work Package. The NEOCharter defines common values and principles for diversity and inclusion (D&I) within the NEOLAiA alliance.

To prepare the draft, various groups within the alliance were consulted on their diversity and inclusion needs. Relevant EU documents and legal requirements were also taken into the account. This year, WP leaders Professor Dr Michaela Vogt and Dr Amelie Labusch from Bielefeld University travelled to all NEOLAiA locations to discuss diversity and inclusion practices at the partner universities.

At the WP3 meeting in Bielefeld, the colleagues discuss the draft and review the universities’ national requirements, among other things. Professor Dr Angelika Epple, Rector of Bielefeld University, also welcomed the international colleagues at one of her meetings at the university. The NEOCharter is intended to support the handling of diversity and inclusion at the partner universities in the future, incorporating best practices and helping to break down barriers.
