The representatives of the University of Jaén (UJA) and NEOLAiA European Universities Alliance recently took part in the first Forum of Spanish Universities involved in European University initiatives (UEUE), hosted on November 4–5 at Rey Juan Carlos University.
The event brough together 175 delegates from nearly every Spanish institution participating European University Alliances. Among the attendees were key figures from national and European bodies such as ANECA, CRUE, and the Spanish Ministry of University. The forum represented more than just a meeting of minds – it was a meaningful moment for improving cooperation between universities in different countries.
Over the two days, participants discussed both ideas and practical challenges. They focused on topics such as:
- How to introduce the European Degree in different educational systems
- The growing role of micro-credentials in flexible, lifelong learning
- Ways to attract and keep international academic talent
- How alliances should be organized and what legal structures they may need
- How to ensure stable and long-term funding
NEOLAiA representatives showed their commitment to helping shape the future of higher education. Their participation reflects their aim to promote innovation, strengthen collaboration between universities and help build a more inclusive and connected academuc community across Europe.
