In July, ten international students at Bielefeld University collaborated on the Blended Intensive Programme ‘Comparative International Perspectives on Education: Inclusive Teaching and Learning Materials’. Under the guidance of Professor Dr Michaela Vogt and Dr Amelie Labusch, they discussed inclusion in schools and teaching and learning materials from a European perspective.

Following two preparatory online sessions, the course group came together in July for a five-day on-campus session at Bielefeld University. Participants from Bielefeld University, Örebro University (Sweden) and University of Nicosia (Cyprus) brought teaching and learning materials from their respective countries.

The aim was to analyse different approaches to inclusive education and to reflect on their own ideas regarding pedagogical practice. The materials served as a starting point for discussions on sensitivity to inclusion in the classroom and on the structural frameworks of the respective education systems.

The Blended Intensive Programme has been taking place since 2023, rotating between the partner universities, and returned to Bielefeld University in 2026 following stops in Örebro and Ostrava.
