A New European Master’s Programme at the Intersection of AI, Robotics and Global Health

May 28, 2026 | Neolaia

The NEOLAiA European University Alliance has reached an important milestone with the launch of the Joint Master’s Degree in Artificial Intelligence and Social Robotics Applied to Global Health. Developed in collaboration between Örebro University, the University of Tours and Ștefan cel Mare University of Suceava, the programme represents a forward-looking approach to international higher education.

The official agreement was signed during the NEOLAiA General Meeting on 20 May at Örebro University, where the Rectors of the participating institutions formally confirmed their shared commitment. The launch of the programme marks both the introduction of a new joint educational initiative and the continued strengthening of long-term collaboration within the alliance.

The programme reflects NEOLAiA’s broader mission to transform higher education through inclusion, innovation and cross-disciplinary cooperation. By combining academic expertise across institutions and disciplines, the alliance contributes to sustainable and long-term impact in Europe and beyond.

International Experience and Career Opportunities

The programme offers a unique international study experience across multiple universities, fostering both academic and cultural exchange. Participants develop advanced skills in artificial intelligence and social robotics, combined with an understanding of ethical and societal dimensions. Through research-based learning, the programme provides opportunities to engage with complex, real-world challenges in an international context.

Graduates are prepared for a wide range of career paths. After graduation, career opportunities include roles such as medical data scientist, public health technologist, robotics-for-health innovator within NGOs and research institutes, or AI consultant for health-tech companies. The interdisciplinary profile creates strong opportunities for both applied and research-oriented careers in an evolving global landscape.

A Strong Joint Offer within NEOLAiA

This programme is one of three joint degree’s programmes developed within the NEOLAiA alliance. Together, these degrees reflect the alliance’s shared vision for the future of higher education and demonstrate the strength of collaboration across European universities. By pooling expertise and developing joint programmes, NEOLAiA creates innovative, high-quality education that transcends national borders and addresses complex societal challenges through interdisciplinary approaches.
