On March 6-7, 2025, Ștefan cel Mare University of Suceava (USV) had the honour of welcoming a delegation from Örebro University, Sweden, as part of the NEOLAiA Alliance. This strategic visit coincided with the USV Anniversary Days, providing the perfect setting to strengthen international cooperation.
During the meetings, key representatives from both universities reflected on the progress of NEOLAiA after its first year, shared insights on project achievements, and discussed future directions. The delegation from Örebro included high-ranking officials and experts in internationalisation and academic collaboration:

- Dimitri Beeckman, Designated Vice-Rector
- Ida Andersson-Norrie, International Strategy Officer, Senior Advisor of NEOLAiA Team, Secretary of the Steering Committee
- Pia Bro-Nygårdhs, Project Manager for NEOLAiA
- Maria Arnborg, Project Manager for NEOLAiA
- Daniela Andrén, Senior Lecturer in Economics, Örebro School of Business.
Beyond reviewing past milestones, the visit set the stage for new scientific networks, joint research initiatives, and regional development projects. The delegation from Örebro discussed on specific topics with USV representatives within the Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology Laboratory, Metagenomics Laboratory, Molecular Biology Laboratory, The Machine Intelligence and Information Visualization Lab and the Food Fraud Detection Laboratory. Meetings regarding cooperation in fields like research, health and entrepreneurship were also part of the visit’s agenda.
Looking ahead, USV remains committed to fostering innovation through activities such as the NEO-Entrepreneurship Conference, Focus Academy training programs, and the development of a Pedagogical Hub.
