Bielefeld University is awarding scholarships for participation in the German Summer Courses from 5-29 August 2025 – Nomination open until April 30.
Bielefeld University is pleased to announce the availability of scholarships for students from NEOLAiA partners interested in participating in the annual German Summer Courses. This opportunity is designed to support students in enhancing their German language skills and experiencing German culture firsthand. Participating in the German Summer Courses at Bielefeld University offers significant added value for students:
- Language Proficiency: Immersive language courses provide a unique opportunity to rapidly enhance German language skills, especially in conversational contexts.
- Networking Opportunities: Connecting with peers from around the world, fostering international friendships and professional relationships that can be valuable throughout the academic and professional career.
- Personal Growth: Navigating a new cultural environment can significantly boost the adaptability, independence, and problem-solving skills.
The courses comprise 25 teaching units per week (including working groups in the afternoon). Participants receive a certificate of attendance and 4 ECTS.
Scholarship Coverage:
- The scholarship may cover tuition fees and accommodation (not included: travel, meals)
- Details about the exact coverage and any additional benefits will be provided upon selection.
Each NEOLAiA partner is invited to nominate two Bachelor or Master students for the scholarship. The scholarship is open to all subject areas. A prerequisite is that the students have at least an A1 level in German.
Selection should be carried out by a selection committee (at least two members) and include the following steps:
- List of applicants
- Selection protocol with reason for selection
- Submit documentation and nominees including
- Gender and Name
- Email address
- Proficiency level of German
Bielefeld University will be looking forward to receive the nominations before April 30 via email to sommerkurse@uni-bielefeld.de. After 1 May, candidates will receive individual guiding information.
